Exploring the World in Large Format: A Journey Through Architectural Photography
I devoted several years to finding and photographing Americana imagery, encapsulating the essence of American culture and history with nostalgic depictions of iconic symbols. I felt a deep connection to Robert Frank’s "The Americans," which reveals the other side to the rags-to-riches narrative of The American Dream. Having grown up in New York City’s era of bankruptcy, I was surrounded by historic architecture of a bygone era; a cityscape of a gilded age past its prime. Using a large format view camera entails slowing down and fixating on the subject.

The line between my creative, fine art photography and commercial work is sometimes blurry. The Columbia Diner, Hudson, New York photograph was bought by Hallmark as a greeting card, and my professional photography of artworks by the artist Anselm Kiefer can be found on the cover of his monograph published by Thames and Hudson among others.

I am equally at home photographing interiors. Whether it's an art studio, an opulent hotel lobby, or a beautifully designed home, my large format view camera allows me to capture the essence of these spaces, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that goes into creating them.
